Former Ducks’ signee charged
Oregon Ducks four-star cornerback signee Luke Hill was arrested Wednesday on eight charges, including first-degree assault and attempted murder in the first degree.
His preliminary hearing date is set for June 19.
In a statement, Oregon coach Mario Cristobal clarified Hill’s status, indicating the two parties had parted ways earlier this year.
“He was informed earlier this spring that he would not be a member of our program,” he said.
Hill, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback, was rated the nation’s No. 21 cornerback in the class of 2020 and chose the Ducks over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma and several others.
