Former Eagle Point coach Seth Womack has been named the new head football coach at Redmond High School.

Kevin Bryant, athletic director for the Redmond School District, announced Thursday that Womack, 39, had been hired to replace former Panthers head coach Brent Wasche.

According to a Redmond School District news release, Womack has 15 years of experience in both college and high school football. During the past six years, he has served as head football coach and district athletic director for Eagle Point High School.

The release said Womack will also serve as the new dean of student success at Redmond High.

An Illinois native, Womack played football at NCAA Division III Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. His playing career included two seasons as a lineman with a professional indoor football team in Missouri.

According to the Mail Tribune of Medford, Womack’s teams posted an overall record of 23-33 in his six seasons at Eagle Point. Last year, Eagle Point was 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the Class 5A Special District 2 South division, a record that included a 40-8 victory over Redmond in early September.

Womack takes over a Panthers program coming off a 2-7 season that included a 1-4 record in the 5A SD2 North division.
