LINCOLN CITY — Sam Ramirez called it luck that La Pine somehow squeaked out a 34-32 girls basketball win at the Kiwanis Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

Yet the victory is surely one the La Pine coach will take.

After La Pine and Nestucca exchanged leads throughout the fourth quarter, the Hawks grabbed a 34-32 lead with 15 seconds remaining after Cortney Wolf made two free throws. Nestucca had three attempts to tie or take the lead, but all three shots were off the mark, including the last that was shot from within a few feet of the rim.

Stephanie Westbrook paced the Hawks (4-9) with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Wolf finished with nine points, six assists, five boards and three steals.
