PORTLAND — The Bend Elks (7-4) started fast and furious with a four-run first inning, and the Portland Pickles never recovered.

After tacking on four more insurance runs, Bend cruised to its second straight West Coast League victory over the Pickles by a score of 8-2 at Walker Stadium. It was the Elks’ fifth consecutive victory overall.

Nico Burgarello and Chase Fernlund each tallied three hits and two runs scored for Bend. Fernlund added three RBIs and Jason Bush knocked in a pair.

Elks starting pitcher Kyle Wade picked up his first win of summer with a solid outing. He allowed two runs over five innings and struck out three.
