Seven Central Oregon teams are on the brackets for the 2019 Oregon High School Water Polo playoffs, which begin Thursday at ­Chehalem Aquatic Center in Newberg.

The opening day will feature play in the 5A/4A boys and girls divisions. Among the boys games, Redmond, the No. 8 seed, takes on No. 1 seed Hood River Valley at noon. Girls contests include No. 5 Ridgeview facing No. 4 Ashland at 5:50 p.m. Thursday’s winners advance to the state championship round Nov. 15-16 at Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis.

The 6A girls playoffs are set for Friday, including No. 4 Summit meeting No. 13 Tualatin at 9:10 a.m. At 4:10 p.m., No. 6 Bend faces No. 11 Mountainside. Friday’s playoff winners advance to the first round of state play on Friday night.

On Saturday, the 6A boys playoffs include No. 4 Summit vs. No. 13 Sunset at 9:10 a.m. and No. 11 Mountain View vs. No. 6 David Douglas at 4:10 p.m. Playoff winners move on to the first round of state play on Saturday night.

The 6A girls and boys state championships are also scheduled for Nov. 15-16 in Corvallis.
