PHILOMATH — Sisters junior John Peckham took first place and led the Outlaws to a second-place team finish in the boys division of the Paul Mariman Invitational cross-country meet Saturday at Philomath High School.

Peckham covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 17.83 seconds. Sisters teammate Will Thorsett finished third as the Outlaws posted a team score of 70. Host Philomath won the boys meet with a score of 59.

In the girls meet, Sisters freshman Ella Thorsett finished third and teammate Kate Bowen placed seventh to lead the Outlaws to a fourth-place team finish.
