West Coast League baseball, All-Star events in Bend: For the first time, Vince Genna Stadium plays host to the WCL’s midseason showcase. The annual Home Run Derby takes place Monday starting at 7:05 p.m. and will be followed by a fireworks show. The All-Star Game, featuring top players from the league’s North and South divisions, is Tuesday, first pitch at 6:35 p.m. Info at bendelks.com.

Wednesday

Equestrian, Oregon High Desert Classics in Bend: The second and final week of the 30th annual hunter/jumper show gets underway at J Bar J Boys Ranch. The competition runs through Sunday and features the Classics’ second $25,000 Grand Prix on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Spectators are welcome; admission is free. Wednesday

College football, Pac-12 Media Day in Hollywood, Calif. (Pac-12 Networks): The games don’t start for weeks, but the hype for the 2019 season kicks off this week with a series of televised opening statements featuring each conference team. Coach Mario Cristobal and the Oregon Ducks will be spotlighted first, starting at 9:30 a.m. Coach Jonathan Smith and the OSU Beavers are up next at 9:45 a.m.

Friday-Sunday

Swimming, Cascade Lakes Swim Series at Elk Lake: Hosted by Central ­Oregon Masters Aquatics, the 25th annual series includes races over three days in stunning mountain scenery. A 3,000-meter race opens the series at 6 p.m. Friday. Races of 500 and 1,500 meters are at 9:15 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday. And 5,000- and 1,000-meter races are at 8:45 and 11:45 a.m. Sunday. Running, Hoodoo Challenge Half Marathon at Hoodoo Ski Area, 8 a.m.: Now in its fourth year, the Hoodoo Challenge features a new course for a race that starts at the Hoodoo parking lot and loops to the top of 5,703-foot Hoodoo.
