WENATCHEE, Wash. — The last night of the Elks’ road trip was a long one.

The game took only two hours and 43 minutes to complete, but it was over well before the final out, as Bend lost its West Coast League matchup with the Wenatchee AppleSox 16-2 on Thursday night at Paul Thomas Field.

The ’Sox put up six runs in the bottom of the first inning before Elks starter Michael Hansell could record a second out. Wenatchee added three more runs in the second, two in the fourth and five in the sixth for good measure.

Bend right fielder Dayton Provost went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Applesox starter Jake Saum picked up his third victory.
