Bend North Little League will be hosting Oregon state all-star tournaments in two baseball divisions starting this weekend on fields at Sky View Middle School in northeast Bend.

The Majors (ages 10-12) tournament includes eight teams and gets underway Saturday with four games at Jason Heffner Field. The Juniors (ages 12-14) tournament includes five teams and starts with two games Saturday at the Sky View north field. Both are double-elimination tournaments.

The Majors open with Hollywood-Rose City of Portland facing Pendleton at 8 a.m. Other first-round games Saturday are Murrayhill of Beaverton versus Clackamas at 11 a.m., Sprague of Salem versus Medford American at 2 p.m., and Del Norte of Crescent City, California, versus Bend North at 5 p.m.

Bend North’s Majors All-Stars include Slater De Brun, Will Goodman, Camden Hartlaub, Cash Hattenhauer, Caiman Jensen, Jace Johnson, Brady Kennedy, Kayden Kuhnhausen, Will Manfredi, Grayson Moore, Landen Schwerbel and Charlie Sheets. The team is coached by Todd Sheets, Joe Kennedy and Chris Manfredi.

The Majors championship round is set for Thursday. The winner of the Oregon Majors tournament advances to the Little League Northwest Region championships, Aug. 4-10 in San Bernardino, California.

In the Juniors division, play opens at 11 a.m. Saturday with Del Norte taking on La Grande, followed at 2 p.m. by Cascade/South-West Salem facing Murrayhill. Host Bend North had a first-round bye and opens play at 11 a.m. Sunday against the Del Norte-La Grande winner.

Bend North’ s Juniors All-Star roster includes Mason Smith, Jaxson O’Neil, Ashton Oliver, Bennett Scarborough, Caden Chambers, Kaden Carpenter, Logan Ring, Kyler Effingham, Alex Via, Ivan Hernandez-Giesking, Preston Schock, Brenden Plumb and Peyton Carroll. The team is coached by Brad Giesking, Jason Via and E.J. Aponte.

The Juniors championship round is scheduled for Wednesday. The winner of the state Juniors tournament qualifies for the Junior League Baseball West Region championships, July 26-Aug. 3 in San Jose, California.

Admission is free to both tournaments. Food trucks and vendor tents will be at the Sky View fields.
