The Elks hit three home runs in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs in the inning en route to a 12-5 victory over the Corvallis Knights on Sunday.

After a single and a fielder’s choice to start the frame, Bend’s Michael Warkentin hit a two-run home run to stretch the Elks’ lead to 5-2. Two more Bend hitters then reached base on a hit-by-pitch and error, and Ian Nowak piled on with a three-run home run. Collin Runge then hit a solo home run.

Runge also knocked in the first Elk runs of the game with a two-run double in the second inning. His batting average improved to .302 after going 3-for-4. Nowak was 4-for-5, scored two runs and had three RBIs as Elks (5-16) avoided a series sweep.

Sam Muskat earned the win, scattering six hits and allowing two runs in five innings.
