After snapping a six-game losing streak with Tuesday’s 7-6 win over Bellingham, the Elks were unable to keep momentum on their side.

Bend fell to the Bells 3-1 Wednesday night at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend.

The Elks (3-8) mustered only four hits and struck out a total of 13 times.

The Bells (6-5) opened to the scoring, pushing across two runs in the fourth inning. The first came on a Grant Holman single that scored Griffin McCormick, who doubled to lead off the inning. ­Earnie Yake scored later in the inning on a passed ball.

Bend’s only run came in the bottom of the fourth. Gonzaga sophomore Gabe Togia knocked home Jake Holton with a two-out single.

Nick Nastrini picked up the win for Bellingham, logging six innings of three-hit ball. He allowed an earned run and struck out seven.

Daniel Naughton took the loss for the Elks. He pitched 41⁄3 innings, allowed two earned runs, struck out five and walked three.

Former Ridgeview High School star Collin Runge had Bend’s only extra-base hit, a two-out double in the eighth.
