With all five starters returning from a team that reached the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight, Oregon was picked to finish second in the Pac-12 in the preseason women’s basketball coaches poll.

UCLA was picked the win the conference with seven first-place votes. The Ducks received three first-place votes, and Stanford, which was tied for second in the poll, had two.

“Obviously we’re not flying under the radar anymore,” Ducks coach Kelly Graves said. “I think they, in the back of their minds, think they can do more and do better, and that’s certainly what we’re gunning for this year.”

Oregon State, coming off winning the regular-season title, was picked fourth. The Beavers lost two starters, including second-team All-American Sydney Wiese.

“I love this team. They’re tightknit, they’re tough,” Beavers coach Scott Rueck said. “They realize they’ve got to adapt to a new environment, a new demand, and they’re ready for it.”
