Six from Bend on TrackTown podium — Six athletes from Bend placed in the top three in their age group at the TrackTown Youth League Championships on June 10 at Eugene’s Hayward Field. Barrington Johnson won the boys 9-10 1,500-meter run in 5 minutes, 26.80 seconds and was third in the turbojav with a throw of 76 feet, 4 inches. Micah Petrowski was second in the boys 11-12 400 (1:01.66). Alexandra Acevedo was runner-up in the girls 11-12 long jump (13-11½, Skye Know was third in the girls 7-8 1,500 (6:04.09), and her sister Ainslie Knox finished third in the girls 9-10 1,500 (5:34.49). Elijah Pyle was third in the boys 11-12 long jump (14-9¼).

BASKETBALL

COBO camp starts June 26 — The Central Oregon Basketball Organization will host camps for boys and girls entering grades 1 through 8 next week at Mountain View High School in Bend. The Little Dribblers Camp, for kids in grades 1 through 5, will meet from 9 a.m. to noon on June 26 to 29. The Middle School Camp, for kids in grades 5 through 8, will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the same days. Registration for Little Dribblers costs $82 for Bend Park & Recreation District residents and $98 for those outside the district.
