June Heiser was born June 22, 1929, in Big Springs, Nebraska. She graduated from Big Springs Rural High School in 1946. The next four years she studied at Denver University and graduated in 1950 with a degree in chemistry.

She married Dr. Perry Walter Ford on June 10, 1951. The next three years they served in the U.S. Navy, first in San Diego, then two years at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. The family moved to Bend, Oregon in 1954 and remained there except for one year in 1974-75 when Dr. Ford and his family worked as volunteers to build a small hospital-outpatient clinic in the East Central State of Nigeria (Biafra). June taught biology at Bend High school for seven years. She was a member of United Methodist Church, American Association of University Women, PEO Sisterhood, Oregon Medical Association Auxiliary, and Friends of the Bend Library.

June died of congestive heart failure on November 1, 2017. June’s husband, Dr. Ford, preceded her in death, January 21, 2012, and their youngest son David died December 7, 2015. She is survived by her sister, Sybil Webb of Denver, and her children, Douglas Ford (Merrilee), Waldport, Oregon; Spike Ford (Carol), St. Helens, Oregon; Julie Gonsalves (Mike), Bend, Oregon; Alan Ford, Bend, Oregon. She has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no public service.
