Sept. 12, 1935 - May 6, 2014

James Duaine “J.D.” Poulton of Terrebonne, Oregon, left us peacefully on May 6, 2014 at home with his family at his side. He was 78.

James was born September 12, 1935 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Clyde and Hazel (Nicholson) Poulton. He grew up and went to school in Redmond, OR and served in the Army National Guard and the Navy. He later met and married Margie Ditmore. The couple was married for 21 years. James later met and married Leona Derr.

James worked in road construction and he along with his wife, Leona owned their own janitorial business.

James enjoyed fishing and hunting, something he and his dad, Clyde shared while growing up. He later took his own family hunting, fishing, camping and taught them how to water ski and how to dig for old bottles. He was also a member of the 49ers Club and enjoyed gold panning.

James is survived by his son, Danny Poulton of Redmond, OR; daughters, MaryAnn Tipler of Sisters, OR, Jody Poulton and Debbie Kruger, both of Redding, CA; five step- daughters, Rosana Morera, Minda Zoloth and Katy Barbea, all of Salt Lake City, UT, Laura Conners of Prineville, OR and Flo Penrod of Baker City, OR; his sister, Pauline Gardner of Medford, OR; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six nieces and seven nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leona Poulton, and his parents.

James was much loved and will be greatly missed by all. So Dad, this is for you:
