Bend hydrogen fuel-cell maker IdaTech has completed a deal to sell its product lines, nonexclusive technology licenses, name and trademarks to Ballard Power Systems, IdaTech announced in a news release.

The sale was first announced on July 25. Ballard, a Canadian hydrogen fuel-cell company, paid $7.7 million.

In the news release, IdaTech President and CEO Hal Koyama said the deal positions the company, under a new name, to continue providing “further technology through licensing arrangements and engineering development services for a variety of hydrogen and fuel-cell applications.” A new name was not mentioned in the release.
