A 25-year-old man was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown Bend.

The Bend Police Department is releasing few details but reported that police were dispatched to Oregon Avenue and Wall Street at 12:11 a.m. Sunday for a report of a physical dispute and shooting. The victim was found on the sidewalk with a single gunshot wound and was taken to St. Charles Bend, where he later died.  

A suspect, a 27-year-old man, was detained at the scene and lodged in the Deschutes County jail on suspicion of second-degree manslaughter. Police did not identify the victim or suspect.

The Bend Police Department is asking for anybody who may have witnessed the incident to call the nonemergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
