A cougar was spotted on the west rim of Deschutes River canyon in south Bend on Thursday, according to an email from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

“No action will be taken to pursue or trap this cougar,” Corey Heath, ODFW biologist, wrote in an email.

Earlier this week, a cougar was spotted in Sunriver. On May 15 a deer killed within a subdivision on the east rim of the Deschutes River canyon was confirmed to be a cougar kill by state wildlife investigators.
