Bulletin Staff Report

The automated recycling facility BottleDrop in Redmond, which suffered a power surge that damaged equipment earlier this week, returned to normal operations Wednesday.

Repairs were completed at 1:30 p.m. and customers were welcomed to return to both the Bend and Redmond sites, Joel Schoening, community relations manager for BottleDrop, reported to The Bulletin by email.

Customers who dropped BottleDrop green bags earlier this week may still encounter delays, said Schoening.

The equipment failure in Redmond forced staffers to count cans and bottles by hand, causing delays at the recycling site as well as Bend after recyclers sought out alternative sites.
