Several campsites and recreation areas are flooded or partially flooded along the Lower Deschutes and John Day rivers, according to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Prineville district.
Prineville BLM recreation staff have surveyed as many sites as possible that can be accessed by land and have assessed how severe the flooding is in each area. More than 20 locations are flooded or partially flooded on the two rivers.
People planning to recreate along the Lower Deschutes and John Day rivers over the next few days should be aware of conditions and make alternate plans as needed, according to the recreation staff.
BLM staff will continue to update the latest flooding information on the Prineville District website at https://www.blm.gov/office/prineville-district-office.
