Bulletin Staff Report

The Culver School Board will be adding a new member in September: Lindsay Cloud, owner of a property management company.

Pam Halbert, the school board’s secretary, said because Cloud was the only person who applied for the vacant board position, she guaranteed her appointment to the board at its Sept. 12 meeting.

Cloud, 36, owns Bend-based real estate company Velocity Property Management, and has two children ages 4 and 2. The older child will attend kindergarten in Culver next year. She said that her main priority for Culver’s schools would be safety, from bullying to gun violence.

Cloud is replacing Dave Slaght, who left the school board in June after 10 years after accepting a job in the small Eastern Oregon town of Echo. Cloud will only serve half of Slaght’s term, due to Oregon state law, and her seat will be up for reelection in the spring of 2021.
