Oregon State University is hosting Sybrina Fulton, the mother of slain teen Trayvon Martin, for a speech and Q&A session in Corvallis on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and the event will be livestreamed for free on OSU-Cascades’ Bend campus.
The speech, entitled “We Are All Trayvon,” will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, and the livestream will be held in Room 206 at Tykeson Hall. Although Fulton will not be able to answer live questions from the Bend audience, OSU-Cascades spokeswoman Christine Coffin said people can send in questions ahead of the event for her to answer. When one registers online to attend the event on the OSU-Cascades website, a link will be provided afterwards to ask a question. An informal discussion in Bend with Diversity Coordinator Erin Rook may follow, Coffin said.
