Two Bend men were arrested Monday morning is relation to a butane honey oil operation discovered in a Bend home.
Just before 10 a.m., Bend police and a state Department of Human Services worker went to check on a 1-year-old child in the 19800 block of Mahogany Street in southwest Bend. The child was in the care of Gary Hachtel, 55, who police say was in possession of heroin at the time.
While at the home, police found the butane honey oil lab, used to manufacture hash oil. Gregory Unruh, 36, who lives at the home, said the lab was his, according to police, who also found large quantities of marijuana at the home,
Hachtel was cited and released on suspicion of possession of heroin and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Unruh was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, child neglect, unlawful manufacture of, cannabinoid extract and was taken to the Deschutes County jail.
The child was released to a relative.
