Former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant closed out the 2019 season Thursday at Les Schwab Amphitheater, performing with the Sensational Space Shifters. Earlier in the season, the amphitheater hosted performances by Gary Clark Jr., the B-52’s, the Avett Brothers, Trombone Shorty and The Roots, among others. And Vampire Weekend has already been scheduled to play Les Schwab next summer, according to BendConcerts.com.
The venue in the Old Mill District may be getting some upgrades. Plans on file with city of Bend include documents showing a metal detector, a rendering of a possible entryway and accessibility improvements. (Old Mill District developer Bill Smith is a shareholder in Central Oregon Media Group, an entity formed by Salem-based EO Media Group, which bought The Bulletin.)
