Bulletin Staff Report

The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees for many day-use recreation sites in Oregon and Washington on Veterans Day.

This includes many picnic areas, trailheads, visitor centers and boat launches. All recreation sites run by a concessionaire will continue to charge fees unless decided otherwise by the individual site manager. Fees will not be waived for camping, cabin rentals, heritage expeditions or other permits.

“We hope this fee-free day will encourage veterans, their families, and all Americans to visit their national forests and enjoy the many benefits these public lands provide,” said Pacific Northwest Regional Forester Glenn Casamassa.
