Bulletin Staff Report

In an effort to recruit volunteers to serve as winter interpretive rangers and winter conservation rangers, the Deschutes National Forest will hold a volunteer information night on Oct. 17 from 6to 7:30 p.m.

The volunteer rangers will represent the Forest Service at Mt. Bachelor for a variety of winter programs. These include programs in which people can ski, snowboard or snowshoe with a ranger. Volunteers are also needed for youth educational programs. Volunteers are expected to have experience in skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing.

The information session will be held at the Deschutes National Forest headquarters, located at 63095 Deschutes Market Road in Bend. For more information about the event, call Discover Your Forest at (541) 383-5530.
