Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization, will host a talk at the Riverhouse on the Deschutes Convention Center in Bend at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
Karen Stewart, a mental health officer who has worked for Doctors Without Borders for 15 years, will discuss her experiences in the field and provide attendees with an opportunity to find out more about the organization’s programs across the globe.
Stewart has worked on 11 assignments in nine countries.
In her presentation, Stewart will discuss working in HIV/AIDS clinic in Lagos, Nigeria and in Aceh, Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami.
A question and answer session will be held after Stewart’s talk.
