An 18-year-old Redmond man died in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night at the intersection of SE Reed Market Road and SE American Lane.
Connor Hunt was in the front passenger seat of a 2014 Subaru Impreza when the car collided with a 1996 Ford F250 pickup truck at the intersection, according to Bend Police. Hunt was killed in the crash.
None of the other occupants in the vehicles was injured. All of them were wearing seat belts.
An initial police investigation found that Chase Turnbull, 18, of Bend, was driving the blue Ford pickup truck east at about 8:07 p.m. on Reed Market Road toward the American Lane intersection when he collided with the Subaru, driven by Marshall Sarabia, 19, of Bend. The Subaru had two passengers, Hunt and Brooklyn Klaus, 18, of Bend, who was sitting in the rear passenger side.
The pickup struck the Subaru on the passenger side as the Subaru was turning south onto American Lane from Reed Market Road, according to police.
Police believe both vehicles entered the intersection on a yellow light.
The intersection was closed in all directions until 2:15 a.m.
