A 21-year-old Bend man is facing charges after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a person during a dispute.

At 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Bend Police were called to a disturbance in a home on Brentwood Avenue. The people involved were gone when officers arrived, but a 19-year-old man contacted police shortly after to say Dahnte Nathaniel Cegers had threatened him with a handgun.

Police applied for and received a warrant to search Cegers’ home in Stonebriar Apartments in northeast Bend. At about 2 a.m., they searched the apartment and arrested Cegers, though they did not locate a firearm.

Cegers is being held in Deschutes County jail on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, being a felon in possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and a parole violation.
