An all-day public meeting next week will help guide updates to the master plan for Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint.
During a meeting on Feb. 28, the 16-member Pilot Butte Master Plan Advisory Committee will review information from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and hold workshop exercises to develop recommendations for access, trails and various park zones, among other agenda items, according to a news release from the state parks agency.
The park’s master plan, last updated in 1995, is designed to guide the development and use of park facilities, while providing guidelines for the protection and management of important natural, cultural and scenic resources within the park, according to the release. The update is expected to be completed by July.
The meeting next week is open to the public, though no public comments will be accepted during the meeting, according to the release. The next opportunity for in-person comment will be during a meeting on April 8 in Bend.
A detailed meeting agenda will be available online at www.pilotbuttemasterplan.com. Individuals planning to attend who need special accommodations must contact Rachel Hill, OPRD Park and Recreation Planner, at least three days in advance at 503-947-8618 or Rachel.Hill@oregon.gov .
