Oregon State University-Cascades has added an aerospace engineering expert to its administrative team.
Andrew Ketsdever, a professor who last served as the director of the Center for Laser, Energy and Exploration Research at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs , has become the university’s associate dean, according to an OSU-Cascades press release Thursday. Ketsdever will oversee science degree programs in biology, computer science, natural resources, energy systems engineering and others. He’ll also lead faculty research development, the release stated.
Ketsdever has a bachelor’s, masters and PhD in aerospace engineering, all from the University of Southern California.
According to OSU-Cascades spokeswoman Christine Coffin, the associate dean position is new to the school, and OSU-Cascades will continue to add more administrative positions as the university continues to grow. This year saw OSU-Cascades’ largest first-year class in its four-year history.
“I am confident that Andrew’s experience in academic leadership and in building research programs will help us continue to attract talented faculty and provide inspiration for our students,” OSU-Cascades Academic Dean Julie Gess-Newsome wrote in the release.
