Evacuation orders were issued Thursday evening for the Three Rivers Subdivision in Big Canyon because of the spread of the Graham Fire, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The entire Three Rivers community has been ordered to evacuate, the sheriff’s office said.
The Graham Fire, which began west of the community near Fly Creek, has burned 750 acres, pushed in part by high winds blowing to the east, the sheriff’s office said.
Fire retardant is being dropped from two aircraft, and about 17 fire engines are protecting homes in the area. Seven different agencies are fighting the fire.
