The Bend man accused of masturbating near a child with severe developmental disabilities made an initial appearance on Wednesday in Deschutes County Circuit Court.
Craig Randleman is charged with private indecency and criminal mistreatment for acts alleged when he worked as a private care provider for a woman and her 14-year-old son with the cognitive functioning of a 2-year-old.
The woman reported to police her home security cameras had captured Randleman in April masturbating to pornography near her son, and, a day earlier, taking an hourlong nap.
Judge Beth Bagley assigned Randleman July 24 as the date to enter his plea. She approved a waiver to allow him to travel on a family trip to Idaho. He’s to have no contact with his alleged victim and the victim’s mother.
Randleman’s care provider number was terminated last month by the state health department.
