St. Charles Bend was on lock out for about an hour Monday afternoon at the request of the Bend Police as they investigated a possible threat outside the hospital. According to Bend Police Lt. Clint Burleigh, the threat did not involve the hospital or any patients at the hospital, but police were investigating a person who might have been outside the hospital.
“We determined that we can’t find the person there,” Burleigh said. “So we lifted the lockout.”
The hospital had locked the entrances allowing people to leave but not to enter the hospital as a precautionary measure. Neither hospital nor police officials would provide further details on the nature of the incident.
