An alleged burglar fleeing a house in La Pine ignored sheriff’s deputies commands to stop. He didn’t ignore the police dog.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residential burglary in progress on Tuesday in the 50000 block of Ash Road. A neighbor had noticed a broken window and saw a stranger walking inside the house.
When deputies arrived, Timothy Ray Paul Evans, 33, of Salem, ran from the back of the house into the woods. According to Sgt. Kent VanderKamp, Evans didn’t respond to the deputies’ commands, but heeded Brolo’s “barking commands.” He then surrendered and was taken to the Deschutes County Adult Jail. He is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft.
Brolo, a six-year old Belgian Malinois, has been with the Sheriff’s office since September 2015.
