Bulletin staff report

A fire destroyed a two-car garage early Tuesday morning at a residence on the 20000 block of Northeast Liberty Lane in Bend.

Bend Fire Department crews responded to the unoccupied residence at 2:30 a.m. and found the garage engulfed in flames with the fire spreading into the house. The interior of the house had heavy smoke and heat damage.

Fire crews were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes, according to Fire Inspector Steve Stenkamp.

The garage, filled with common household items, is considered a total loss, according to the fire department. The loss of the garage and damage to the house is valued at $110,000.

Thomas and Jill Bazemore are the property owners, and the occupant is Eric Cano, Stenkamp said.
