The body ofa missing Bend woman sought by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was located Saturday.

Deputies found the body of Susan P. Lewis, 60, on Saturday around 10 a.m.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Lewis’ vehicle had been located on Friday in the area of Sisemore and Couch Market roads. Deputies located Lewis’ body after searching the surrounding area. She died from a self-inflicted injury, the release said.

Lewis’ death doesn’t appear to be suspicious in nature, the release states, but the case is still under investigation.

An earlier DCSO news release said that Lewis had recently been out of state for an extended period of time receiving medical treatment, and may have been suffering from a mental illness.
