Prineville Bike Park opens Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration beginning at 11 a.m.

The bike park, on an acre of land adjacent to Ochoco Creek Park, includes a BMX pump track, obstacles for mountain bike training and an area for novice and family riders. Crook County Parks and Recreation will manage the bike park on land donated by the city with a free 40-year lease. Bike enthusiasts and other groups raised money for the project, which was expected to cost about $89,000; the Ford Family Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to the project.
