Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and SecureShred will provide shredding services for Central Oregon residents from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the sheriff’s office substation, 703 N. Larch St., in Sisters.

Residents can bring up to four medium-size boxes of personal documents to shred at no cost. The event is not intended for business or company disposal. The sheriff’s office will also be collecting outdated or unwanted prescription medication excluding needles and over-the-counter drugs.

Participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items to benefit a local food bank.
