Larry and Loretta Jones, of Terrebonne, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 28 with their family at their home.
The couple were married Sept. 26, 1959, in Marcola. They have five children: Larry Jr., of Lebanon; Sheri, of Terrebonne; Tina Winn (and Curtis), of Terrebonne; Dori DeLanuay (and Randy), of Boring; and Juli, who passed away in 1994; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jones is retired. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 10 years and upon his honorable discharge became a log truck driver for 30 years. He took pride in working all of his life, to help his country and his family. He loved to go hunting, fishing and camping, as well as spend time with his loving family. On any given day, you could catch Larry outside working around the house, improving anything he could for his wife and family. He is a loving, hardworking man and a devoted husband.
Mrs. Jones is also retired. She ran and owned several restaurants throughout Oregon, supporting her family while Mr. Jones was in the Navy. She is a loving mother to many and loves to garden, watch the wild animals in her backyard, listen to Elvis Presley and spend time with her family. She takes pride in caring for her family and took care of three of her grandchildren after her daughter, Juli, passed away. She also took care of her other daughter, Sheri, and her granddaughter, Sara Jones. She is her family’s “rock” and guidance and is always there for anyone who needs it.
They have lived in Terrebonne for four years.
