Idona Fix, of Bend, celebrated her 100th birthday with a party March 23 at the Shilo Inn in Bend surrounded by her family and friends.

Mrs. Fix was born March 22, 1919, in Whiteson, Oregon. She married Willard Fix, who died July 7, 1992. She has five children, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The festivities at the Shilo Inn were held in the same room where she and her late husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1989. Mr. and Mrs. Fix purchased the land, where the Shilo sits, in 1956, then developed and ran the River View Trailer Park until selling and retiring 1985.

She bowled as long has her body would allow, but still enjoys planting and working her vegetable garden, baking, feeding the birds and deer in her front yard and maintaining an array of flowers.

She lives in Bend and has spent her entire life in Oregon.
