Jim and Susan (Marks) Granger, of Bend, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to the United Kingdom in September.

The couple were married Oct. 26, 1968 in San Anselmo, California. They met while Mr. Granger was stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base in Novato, California. They have three children, Shannon (and Bill) Strait, of Bend, Brian (and Jamie), of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Leslie (and Mark) Bartlett, of Bend; six grandchildren.

Mr. Granger was raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota and graduated from Northern State University. Upon leaving the Air Force, he worked in commercial real estate. Mrs. Granger was raised in San Rafael, California. She attended the University of California, Davis. She was an administrative assistant at Cherry Crest Elementary School in Bellevue, Washington, for 18 years. After retiring in December 2013, the Granger’s spent 11⁄2 years traveling the country in an RV before moving to Bend 3 years ago.
