Lois and John Seitter, of Redmond, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 15.

The couple were married in 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio. They met on a blind date while pursing their bachelor’s degrees at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.

Once he graduated, John was in the Air Force for four years. After his service, he worked as the accounting manager at Middletown Regional Hospital. He is currently the treasurer for two Redmond nonprofits, Habitat for Humanity and Jericho Road. He is also the accountant for the Cascade View Estates homeowner association. Lois worked as a first-grade teacher for 39 years until her retirement in 2006. She has taught in several places, including Cleveland; Great Falls, Montana; Goose Bay, Labrador; and Middletown, Ohio. She currently works as a substitute teacher for the Redmond School District. The couple enjoys traveling with their RV, hiking and spending time with their Yorkshire terrier, Madi.

They have lived in Redmond for 11 years.
