Jim and Martha (Long) Davies, of Bend, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 11.
The couple were married in 1952 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. They have Steve Davis (and Sally Oljar), of Seattle, Tim Davies, of Federal Way, Washington, Dave Davies, of Bend, Mike (and Mary) Davies, of Warrenton, and Paddi Davies (and John Killoran), of Monmouth; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Davies retired from his work as a family doctor in 1997. He worked as a doctor on cruise ships all over the world, as well as at the Bend Memorial Clinic. Mrs. Davies worked as a homemaker. Together they learned to ski while Mr. Davies was stationed in Germany. Later they made their home in Bend to make sure their children grew up skiing. They enjoy exploring Oregon on foot and by car, fishing at the Prineville Reservoir, scuba diving and raising animals.
They have lived in Bend for 53 years.
