Chet and Betty (Weller) Ramsey, of La Pine, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their children on Aug. 22.

The couple were married Aug. 19, 1955, in Eugene. They have three children, Kathy (and Norm) Overlund, of Eugene, Debbie (and Dave) Wirtz, of Crescent, and Dan (and Tracy) of Bend; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ramsey was a timber faller and retired in 1994. He played for and coached the McKenzie Redsides baseball team, coached the McKenzie Redsides Little League baseball team and later coached for the Gilchrist/Crescent Little League baseball teams. He played for the men’s basketball league in Eugene, and bowling leagues in Oakridge and La Pine. He recently received his 45-year pin for participating in state bowling tournaments. He is a member of the La Pine Moose Lodge and the La Pine Christmas Basket Association. He is an avid baseball fan and cheers for the Seattle Mariners. He enjoys bowling, hunting and family gatherings.

Mrs. Ramsey was postmaster in Gilchrist and retired in 1999. She is a former member of the Oregon Women’s Volleyball League and the Oregon Women’s Bowling League. She is a current member of the La Pine Community Church, La Pine Senior Center, La Pine Christmas Basket Association and La Pine Moose Lodge. She enjoys reading, traveling and family gatherings.

They have lived in La Pine for 47 years.
