A third person who police say was involved in a bomb hoax in Bend was arrested Thursday.
William Earl Swanson, 40, of Redmond was arrested about 1:23 p.m. at 21583 Stem Place in Bend, according to the Bend Police Department.
Swanson was charged with possession of a hoax device, first-degree disorderly conduct and criminal conspiracy, police said. He is being held at the Deschutes County jail.
In the early morning of July 29, someone spotted a suspicious package near the downtown courthouse entrance hours after a bomb threat was phoned in.
All courthouse events were canceled for the day and a bomb-sniffing dog with Oregon State Police was called in. OSP eventually used a water cannon to neutralize the package.
Two other men allegedly involved in the hoax were arrested Saturday during a traffic stop. Kellie Kent Cameron, 30, and Jonathon Tyler Allen, 23, are charged with possession of a hoax destructive device, first-degree disorderly conduct, possession of methamphetamine and criminal conspiracy.
