A driver was arrested early Saturday morning for alleged drunken driving after crashing into a power pole at the intersection of South Canal Boulevard and Helmholtz Way in Redmond, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, a juvenile who was not identified by law enforcement, was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry north on South Canal Boulevard at about 12:23 a.m. and lost control, striking the power pole. The power line stayed intact and no power outages were reported.
The road was icy and extremely slick at the time of the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver and two passengers were transported to St. Charles Redmond with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and release to their parents at the hospital.
