The week after Christmas can bring sorrow or relief, depending on how you feel about the holiday. But even if your holiday was an ordeal, Storm Large’s Holiday Ordeal at the Tower Theatre on Thursday and Friday won’t be. The eclectic singer, known for her work with Pink Martini since 2011 and collaborations with k.d. lang, John Doe, George Clinton, Oregon Symphony and others, will bring her fiery takes on Christmas songs both traditional and modern, from “O Holy Night” to “Sock it to Me Santa” to Queen’s “Somebody to Love” (which Large calls “the greatest holiday song never written for the holidays”). Even holiday-music haters should be able to get behind Large’s funky mix of metal, jazz, pop and classical. Add in surprise special guests and some onstage gags, and you’ve got one of Central Oregon’s more irreverent celebrations. (Friday’s show is sold out, but as of press time there were still tickets available Thursday.)
