• Rod Frederick, of Bend, has won the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife 2018 upland game bird art contest for his painting of blue grouse. Frederick will receive a prize award of $2,000. His winning artwork will be the face of a 2018 stamp and other promotional items to benefit Oregon’s species and habitats.

• Ian Reid has been selected as the new Sisters district ranger. Reid earned a bachelor’s degree in fisheries from Oregon State University and a master’s degree in biology from Southern Oregon University. He began his Forest Service career in 1999 and is currently the North Fork John Day district ranger at Umatilla National Forest. He will report to position in early December.
