Parrilla Grill’s long-running summer concert series, Show Us Your Spokes, kicked off Wednesday with High Step Society and continues Aug. 7 with perennial Bend favorite Dirty Revival. The Portland-based seven-piece, led by soulful belter Sarah Clarke, melds eye-popping showmanship onstage with a sultry mix of R&B, funk and rock along the lines of fellow neo-soul contemporaries Taarka and The Motet (with whom the band has shared stages before). Local funk/jazz/fusion quartet the Maxwell Friedman Group, which is led by 15-year-old Hammond organist Friedman and recently released its debut live album, “Beyond Neblar,” will open the show.
The free Show Us Your Spokes series, co-sponsored with promoter Parallel 44 Presents, continues with livetronica band Yak Attack on Aug. 14 and rocking string band The Brothers Comatose on Aug. 21.
Dirty Revival, with Maxwell Friedman Group: 5 p.m. Aug. 7; free; Parrilla Grill, 635 NW 14th St., Bend; parallel44presents.com or 541-617-9600.
